Hamate Bone Dislocation: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
A case of hamate dislocation is presented. This is associated with subluxation of the fourth and fifth metacarpi bones with the hamate in a dorsal direction. No other capital or metacarpus injury was involved. The mechanism of injury was a direct crushing force. A close reduction was attempted successfully with percutaneous K-wire fixation. These were removed after 6 weeks and physiotherapy continued for another 6 weeks. The patient was able to return to his normal work with near normal hand function.

Review of the Literature and Case Report of Surgical Treatment of a Neglected Dislocation of Hamate
Introduction: Hamate dislocation is an uncommon injury, and there are only 17 reported cases in the literature. Ten of them are isolated injuries, and in 7 cases the hamate dislocation is a part of other injuries of the hand. Hamate dislocation can be caused by both direct and indirect forces, or as a part of complex injury of the wrist and hand. Case Report: A case report of a 26-year-old man ...
متن کاملFracture of the Body of the Hamate With Dorsal Dislocation of the 4th and 5th Metacarpals: A Case Report
BACKGROUND Solitary fractures of the body of the hamate are rare. Their diagnosis is difficult and requires a high clinical suspicion and a proper radiological examination. CASE REPORT We present a case of a 36-year-old male patient who sustained an intraarticular fracture of the body of the hamate along with dorsal dislocation of the 4th and 5th metacarpals on his right dominant hand. Throug...
متن کاملTranstriquetral perihamate fracture-dislocation: case report☆
The wrist is a region that is very vulnerable to injuries of the extremities. Among these injuries, fractures of the pyramidal bone (or triquetrum) in association with dislocation of the hamate and carpal instability are uncommon. They are generally correlated with high-energy trauma and may be associated with neurovascular deficits, muscle-tendon disorders, skin lesions or injuries to other ca...
متن کاملSimultaneous of Mid Third Clavicle Fracture and Type 3 Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation; A Case Report
Simultaneous mid third clavicle fracture and acromioclavicular joint dislocation is a rare combination injury, as a result of high-energy trauma. We report a patient with a middle third clavicle fracture and ipsilateral grade three-acromioclavicular joint dislocation, which is a rare combination. The patient wanted to get back to work as soon as possible, so the fracture was fixed with recons...
متن کاملLessons to be learned from a missed case of Hamate fracture: a case report
INTRODUCTION We report the case of a missed fracture through the body of the hamate bone, only detected on a later, mistakenly taken 30° oblique x-ray view. This case highlights some of the problems encountered with traditional x-ray views, and the need to consider oblique views as either standard procedure or as an adjunct where clinical suspicion remains high even in the presence of normal x-...
